Mercedes is CEO of Qualitas Test Team, a company that was founded in Popayán, Cauca, Colombia and that sells Testing services in international markets. She has more than 12 years of experience in software engineering, testing, and entrepreneurship. She has become a Reference in Software Testing in LATAM, has participated as a Speaker in a large number of International events, has been a consultant for software testing processes and areas under the ISO/IEC 33000 and ISO 29110 standards. Mercedes was nationally recognized by the Cooperative University of Colombia with the Merit for Service award, in acknowledgment of her consistency in thought, word, and action, as well as her dedicated contributions to the country's social, academic, and business development.
About diversity and inclusion promotion
Since the beginning, Qualitas Test Team has provided opportunities to people with no experience, creating seedbeds to train new talent and hire them. I firmly believe that talent and potential know no limits. My focus is to be an understanding and sensitive leader. I strive to understand and put myself in the shoes of others and I strongly support the leaders of the company to do so. I foster an environment where every team member feels valued and heard, regardless of gender, ethnicity, or any other personal characteristics. I believe in mutual respect and support, and I encourage everyone to do their best. I am committed to creating a work environment where everyone feels valued and has the opportunity to grow and prosper. The BeQualitas Human Talent area works closely with me and promotes this environment. We know that the person comes first and also the way in which they connect with themselves.
Inclusion is a tangible action for us, it is something we actually experience, and it is rooted in our essence, especially in a department like Cauca, where the Qualitas Test Team was established. Cauca is a place with beautiful ethnic and multicultural diversity, but it also presents marked disparities and social vulnerabilities. As a company, we contribute to the development of this region. One way to be inclusive is to maintain a strong connection to our roots and foster it with our team.
At Qualitas, it is essential to offer spaces for personal growth under Jungian therapy. These spaces are not required, but they provide everyone the opportunity to participate in individual therapy that promotes their well-being and personal development. This creates a supportive and empathetic environment that contributes to the growth and balance of each individual on the team.
