About the selection process

How is the selection process?

We divide the selection process into 3 stages:

Stage 1: We create a shortlist with the most voted candidates from all the participant regions. Each region gets 3 to 5 finalists.

Stage 2: The regional judging panel selects regional winners. The regions are Latin America, Europe, US & Canada and India. We choose one winner for each category and region.

Stage 3: The global judging panel selects global winners from the regional winners.

What are the criteria for choosing the winners?

To choose the winners, we follow two approaches:

1. We respect the skills and experience criteria detailed for each category. You can learn more about it in the FAQs section "About the awards".

2. We debate and analyze candidates' stories to choose the ones that genuinely inspire the community and us. Women That Build Awards is a space to recognize women who are breaking the status quo and positively impacting others' lives with their attitude, commitment, and passion.

What happens if a member of the judging panel works at the same company as a nominee?

If one or more members of the judging panel work in the same company as a candidate or have a direct relationship, they must abstain from voting during the selection process for the category corresponding to that candidate.

When does the selection process end? What happens next?

The selection process ends at the end of the year (dates TBD). After that, we will announce the regional and global winners at the Women that Build Awards Events in 2024.
