CATTLEytics Inc

USA and Canada | Canada

When CATTLEytics first began in 2014, it was evident that there was a gap in the marketplace that Shari’s company was filling quite successfully. There are no other agricultural technology companies similar to hers that are creating solutions for overall animal health from a place of inside domain knowledge and expertise. As her company has become a pioneer in this specific new field, Shari’s leadership comes into play by consistently educating customers and partners alike and showing them the benefits of partnering with an organization like hers. She has created a small yet efficient team with skills that complement each other, in order to provide valued expertise in hardware, software, veterinary medicine, cattle welfare, database design, analysis and information technology. She finds and solves key technological gaps that are possible by joining the variety of fields of knowledge that exist within CATTLEytics. This impact goes beyond animal welfare; ultimately, CATTLEytics’ solutions allow for farmers to improve the entirety of their business as they proactively manage the lifecycle of the animal and increase the profitability of that animal using their technologies. Her solutions offer the world a piece of the puzzle towards sustainability by decreasing drug use, improving the efficiency of cattle management and marketing, optimizing the use of resources, and simplifying processes. CATTLEytics delivers huge financial savings for their clients by merging the entire framework of the technological veterinary solution with their organization.
In the fall of 2020, one of CATTLEytics’ client companies, Feedlot Health Management Services (FHMS), was identified as being so valuable in the animal agriculture technology space, that they were purchased by the new arm of TELUS Agriculture. As they are especially focused on animal agriculture data, and CATTLEytics has developed all of their data solutions, this demonstrates the value Shari brings to her clients.

About innovation and new technologies

Through her company, CATTLEytics, Shari is dedicated to helping dairy farmers make informed decisions with their innovative solutions. By combining expert decision-making with custom agricultural system modelling, she is committed to making farming smarter and more efficient in Canada and beyond.

The team she has assembled with a unique cross-trained expertise is one of the main strengths of CATTLEytics. She has brought together subject matter experts in cattle and dairy management, software, hardware, data analytics and machine learning, and veterinary medicine, as well as being both an engineer and a veterinarian herself.

Her company's system solves many of the difficult problems on a dairy farm using AI, such as enabling farmers to establish long-term goals, view modelled data predictions and implement connected choices in immediately actionable ways on-farm, thus maximizing their profit, reducing resource wastage and optimizing production. Sustainability is at the core of the technologies she has created through CATTLEytics, empowering farms to align practices with global goals.

About entrepreneurship and inclusion promotion

It has always been important to our team at CATTLEytics to break the stereotypes as to what societies’ historic vision of what an entrepreneur looks like, and have our work and innovation speak for itself. Our team as a whole celebrates skills and team work, encouraging those with non typical backgrounds, unique skillsets and encouraging inclusion in the workplace.

CATTLEytics, as a female-founded ag-tech company, actively addresses representation challenges in the industry. We prioritize diversity in our team, bringing different perspectives to the table and fostering an inclusive work environment by actively seeking out and recruiting those of diverse backgrounds. Ag-tech has historically lacked diversity in leadership. CATTLEytics actively combats this by having a female founder and prioritizing diverse hiring. This ensures a more comprehensive understanding of farmers' needs and challenges.
