Monica Hernandez
Inspiring Leader
USA and Canada
Infinity Growth Corp
Throughout my career in the STEM industry, I have had the privilege of working as a corrosion, materials, welding, and asset integrity engineer in various consultancy firms, EPC companies, and owner-operators, across three different continents.
However, for the past 12 years, I have transitioned to a leadership role and found that it's what I enjoy the most. I take pride in leading teams, mentoring individuals, and seeing them develop and grow both personally and professionally.
Over the years, I have gained extensive experience in corrosion and integrity management, as well as materials engineering. I have worked on projects ranging from asset integrity management to pipeline design and construction, always prioritizing safety, quality, and environmental protection.
Throughout my career, I have remained committed to promoting sustainable practices and ethical business conduct. I am proud to be a member of professional organizations such as the Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists, and Geophysicists of Alberta, and the AMPP (former NACE - National Association of Corrosion Engineers), where I can continue to learn, grow, and contribute to the industry.
Overall, my journey in the STEM industry has been rewarding, and I look forward to continuing to make a positive impact through my work and leadership.

About diversity and inclusion promotion
In our company, we believe that diversity and equality are not only important values, but also crucial for the sustainability and success of any business. That is why we have implemented policies that actively address some of the biggest issues on diversity and salary gap in the industry. We firmly believe that people should be paid for their effort, skills and experience, regardless of their gender, race, color or sexual preferences.
However, we understand that there is still a long way to go in terms of achieving true equality and diversity in the STEM industry, and that is why we are committed to actively contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set by the United Nations. In particular, our first target is SDG #5, which aims to achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls.
One of the ways in which we are contributing to this goal is by raising awareness about the great achievements of women in STEM fields. Through our podcast, we have dedicated a capsule to showcase some of the most magnificent, powerful, and inspiring women in STEM from around the world. These women come from different continents, countries, and backgrounds, but they all share a passion for science and a commitment to breaking down barriers and inspiring the next generation of women in STEM.
We believe that by showcasing these women's stories and efforts, we can help pave the way for other women and girls in the field of STEM, providing them with positive role models and demonstrating that anything is possible with hard work, dedication, and the right support. We hope that by highlighting these women's achievements, we can help to inspire the next generation of scientists and engineers, and contribute to the building of a more diverse, inclusive, and sustainable future for all.
