Globant
I am very proud to work as a Tech Partner at Globant, where I should guarantee that we have the best and biggest team in the Salesforce ecosystem.
I studied Systems Engineering in Colombia and began my career at the Central Bank of this country, working in the telecommunications area. At that moment, the Internet was developing so I decided to continue in the field of communications until this technology was already implemented. Then, I changed to the consulting field where I learned a lot about the company's processes and how to contribute with technology strategies. Finally, I decided to work on technology products that provide global solutions that could be customized for each need. In this way, I came to Salesforce where I have been working for more than 10 years.
One of the principal challenges I have faced in my life is to balance my personal and professional life. I am married and mother of four children and I felt I needed to stay at home with them while developing my professional career. So, I decided to work part-time for several years without having to give up my career development and keep up with the fast-changing technology sector. I feel that I was a pioneer because I worked every morning at the office and in the afternoon I worked from home. Fortunately, I found companies that allowed me to work in this way.
I believe that actual mothers have a unique opportunity, and especially in the field of STEM, since they have the possibility of being present at home without giving up their jobs since they can develop their professional careers from home. This is why companies that are pioneers, such as Globant in this case, allow us to work from anywhere. If you consider that you are curious and love to learn, this is a sector in which you will find constant challenges for applying your knowledge and experience.
On the other hand, during all my professional life I have had excellent mentors who have made me grow and mitigate my weaknesses. I especially remember a mentor with whom we had a client who always had the same stoppers and made me realize that leaders must be agents of change and not just limit ourselves to have a complete assessment of the client's situation. This leads me to study and think about innovation, which is what I try to practice in my day to day, bringing new ideas and applying them even if it is a mistake because from these experiences we learn to do better next time.
Thanks to this experience with mentors, I think that my legacy should somehow participate in the professional development of the people who are close to me. This is why I have dedicated part of my work to guarantee that our team, where we are more than 1600, have a mentor to support them in their growth and also to be a mentor of those who they consider I can contribute in some way. I also work to provide the entire studio with the tools they need to improve their work, defining tools, standards, and training.
Today I feel very satisfied with what I have done in my life. I am very proud to see that my children pursue their goals with passion and giving their best efforts as I live and finally I developed both my professional and personal life.
