Mexico and Caribbean
Movimiento STEM
My love for knowledge and my commitment to education. Initially, I decided to be a science communicator, but I have taken it further. Now, I lead Movimiento STEM, the highest representative body of the STEM ecosystem. It’s an initiative endorsed by the Global STEM Alliance and STEM Learning Ecosystems that seeks to bring about systemic change in Latin America and the Caribbean to ensure that key players implement STEM education to build a more equitable and inclusive society. I’m developing a new vision for education because education based on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics can prepare new generations to solve the significant challenges of this century in an increasingly technological environment.
I’m bringing my story to all people, particularly young people, to eliminate unconscious biases, barriers, and stereotypes that limit us. In addition, I inspire others by spreading and enabling quality STEM education in the region. I firmly believe that rather than "empowering them,” STEM education enables women to discover and promote their own potential and leadership so that they can participate and contribute to all aspects of life in the country as well-rounded citizens.
In Movimiento STEM, we believe that tangible and intentional actions are needed so that girls, teenagers, and women can access, develop and excel in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, the areas of greatest potential.
From my position as a leader, I reaffirm my commitment to developing talent with a social and inclusive vision to leave no one behind. With my work, I lead by example and show the path toward equality.
