Over a decade-long career in data and analytics, I observed that connectivity across the digital supply chain landscape was broken. The market needed a solution with a simple beautiful interface that could be a single source of truth while democratizing access for all user types. I am proud I was able to bootstrap the company in the early years before raising our Series A round from Edison Partners. It was a privilege to add jobs in a sector that had long been dead in the United States but to also watch the team of women thrive. As our software platform grew in strength, we were simultaneously building a team of strong engineers, half of whom were women. It has been heartening to mentor women on our engineering team and watch them rise to management positions in our company. I’d like to see more women from STEM backgrounds start technology companies. Immigrants have stay power and high degrees of GRIT. I would love to do my part to help more immigrant women start and scale technology companies. There are increasingly more cohorts of amazing and smart women leaders running companies but are unable to raise money. I am eager and excited to help change the game here by encouraging women to think bigger, express their aggressive growth plans and raise more money earlier. I would tell women to bet on themselves. Do not feel apologetic about ambition, and if you want to reach for the stars then take risks.
