Grayce
I’m a proud self taught coder with a passion for supporting others launching their careers in technology, and creating diverse and inclusive environments. I joined Grayce 5 years ago on a graduate development programme, where over 3 years I undertook a range of change, technology and data focused roles across financial and pharmaceutical sectors, all whilst learning to code in my free time. In 2020, I joined the head office team where I have been pivotal in the design, launch and delivery of new data and technology development programmes; which have supported over 100 new professionals launching their careers in data and technology. A proud advocate for “practicing what you preach”, I have done this alongside delivering internal IT transformation objectives across the business and keeping the business up to date with technological advancements.
I am passionate about creating smoother, more inclusive journeys into tech and data based on my experiences and aim to reflect this in everything I do. I am a coach and mentor at work and in my free time through groups such as Code First Girls and Codebar. In my role, I have coordinated ongoing partnership with companies such as Codenation to support diversity and inclusion within tech, creating a mentoring programme for women undertaking coding bootcamps and hosting regular technical career spotlights and Q+As for school aged children, to reflect the diverse range of careers and people that work within technology. I have designed and delivered a range of rich and rewarding development experiences across Grayce, such as a charity datathon that gave back to the local community, regular career spotlight sessions with industry leaders, company wide coding clubs and smaller study groups on advanced topics such as data science to support long term career aspirations. In my role at Grayce I have championed support of a wide range of tech for good initiatives such as Codebar, the tech talent charter and InnovateHer. Through everything I do, I aim to empower all of my colleagues to feel like they belong in tech, no matter their background.
