After 20 years of experience in Education, I contribute with passion for a better education system in Colombia. I believe in improving both social conditions and educational resources for kids around the country and for adults, in private and public sector, no matter their rural or urban conditions. I work on leading teams of innovators and thinkers for various objectives: striving for greater resource-network and alliance creation, to foster digital transformation and to close the talent gap for the Fourth Industrial Revolution. For 8 of the past 20 years, I have worked in the public sector. I have always been interested in how changes in social development are achieved with good public-policy and I have had the privilege to contribute to projects still relevant for my country’s education. In 2004, we developed the Colombia Learns (‘Colombia Aprende’) educational website http://aprende.colombiaaprende.edu.co/cainicio. It garnered the Best Educational Website in Latin America and the Caribbean INFOLAC / UNESCO Award. 16 years later, as Head of the Office of Innovation, we spun off from that website’s best sections with ‘Learn On-line: Content For Anyone’ (Aprender Digital, Contenidos para todos). This has delivered 80,000 quality, open, free, digital educational contents during our nation’s covid-19 emergency. In addition to this, we included an educational media strategy for TV and radio for off-line rural home-schooling. This virtual-product development garnered us recognition as one of 4 countries in Latin America able to successfully apply education strategies remotely prior to the Covid-19 pandemic: https://www.bbc.com/mundo/noticias-america-latina-52375867.
